I found out today that my brother has a four year old daughter that none of us knew about. He is being totally ridiculous about it all and I don’t even want to talk about/to him right now... but I have a niece. She’s beautiful and looks lust like my brother. My mom and I aren’t really sure if we have a place in this little girl’s life, though we desperately want to know her. We don’t want to mess her life up any more than it is with a deadbeat loser for a father. I have the mother’s contact info and she knows that my mom and I know about her daughter and I think is waiting to hear from us.

What would you do? We are so afraid that our appearance in her life will turn her little world upside down. And how do we explain who we are and where her dad is? Ugh. All I’ve done all day is cry. (I’m also 6 weeks pregnant. Lol)
