Should I call the dr or is this normal?

I’ve been having Braxton Hicks contractions every few minutes for the last couple of hours. I’ve been drinking tons of water to try to get them to slow down. I’m 30 weeks and have been having Braxton Hicks contractions for weeks but none even close to how close together these are. Is this normal?? Also, they are not at all painful just uncomfortable tightness.

I would wait til morning to see if they settle down. Chances are likely they’d want you to come in to get checked though if they aren’t going away by position changes, lots of water etc. But go with your gut and if they pick up or become painful I’d definitely call to at least let them know what’s going on.

My OB told me to call if I have 4or more in an hours time.

Definitely get checked if you are able to time them and they come in a pattern. I’m 28 weeks and the same thing has been happening to me for a week now, they go from being 1:6 for a few hours to 1:10, no pain just tight and pressure. Iv been checked twice and my cervix has thinned by 1cm so I’m on weekly progesterone injections to help prevent the contractions, so far I think they are helping a little. Iv a history of preterm rupture of membranes on my daughter at 32 weeks though so I’m high risk. Hopefully they will pass for you with rest and plenty of water but don’t take any chances just in case x

Just out of curiosity why are you drinking water? My doctor told me to stay hydrated once labour starts because being dehydrated slows contractions? Obviously not suggesting you dehydrate yourself just wondering what’s the reason for drinking loads of water.
