So I started bringing my own cup with me when I get coffee (trying to be a little nicer to the earth ya kno) but I've noticed at some places they still put the drink in a plastic cup and then just dump it into my cup, or they use the plastic cup to measure still and then toss it. I get that, I used to work fast food and I know they use lines on the cups to measure the milk and flavoring and whatever else. But anyway my question is does it really matter that I bring my own cup? Do they still use the same amount of plastic by using their cups to measure, or would they normally use two cups....one to measure and one to give me my drink so I'm at least saving one cup?? Seems pointless to bring my own if a disposable cup is being used and thrown away anyway.
