Do you butter your muffins?

My husband always has to put butter on every type of muffin. My opinion is if it’s a more savory type then yes, but a desert muffin like chocolate chip and such doesn’t need butter. What say you?

Corn muffins, banana muffins, and bran muffins get butter. Also English muffins but those are different.

This has to be an American thing because in my 23 years of living I’ve never known anyone butter a muffin unless it’s an English muffin 🤢
