Flying?

My husband is in the Navy, and while he’s deployed I’ve been at my parents two states away, yadda yadda yadda, I got a call yesterday saying our house was robbed. It’s fine we have insurance, but I’m nervous to fly this far along ( 36 weeks). Anybody else going to/ have flown at 37 weeks? My OB said she doesn’t recommend, but understands that I ‘ have to do what I have to do.’

Most airlines won’t actually ask for proof. They don’t want you flying after 35 weeks but won’t deny you until 39 weeks. If you’re low risk, just walk as often as possible and you’ll be okay

It depends how far you have to go... I flew at 33 weeks and it was fine I did get a letter from my dr but no one asked to see it. Do you have someone else who can go and check on your house or do you have to go? If it’s only a 4-5 hour flight I wouldn’t worry about it, even if you did go into labour 4-5 hours isn’t long at all. My first labour was 24 hours. Just make sure to get compression socks to help with swelling!

I'd call the airline and check and see if they will even allow you to fly . Most wont that far along because God forbid you went into labour or something happened being so far up in the air is a bad place for that and they'd have to land who knows where it can be stressful for the airline staff and for yourself as well.

I believe most airlines require a letter from your doctor to travel once you hit the third trimester, but I think if your feeling good and you have to go, then go. Just maybe take a copy of your records in case something happens. Sorry that someone did such a horrible thing!
