Sonoline B Fetal Doppler?

Question

I’ve been considering buying a home Doppler, just to ease my mind in between visits. Would you all recommend, or is it potentially not safe for home use?

Didn’t vote because I don’t know how safe it is. Personally, I haven’t bought one. I’m not skilled enough to determine if baby is okay. Also, I would freak out more if I couldn’t find the heartbeat because baby was in a different spot. I have no medical background or training. For me, it’ll be like buying a stethoscope and listening to my family’s breathing patterns/heartbeats. I don’t know what the heck I’m doing.

I bought mine in 2016 wen I was pregnant with my daughter n using it now for this pregnancy. I am honestly happy that I do have it bc none of my scans or appointments have let us hear the heartbeat n I am 13weeks today. We had a scar at 5weeks so since about 8weeks I have been using it every other week I have been using it. Used it at 12weeks n 3days n was able to hear my baby’s movements/kicks. It gives me so much peace. In the beginning tho it is frustrating not being able to find it so quickly or not at all but take a break, take a deep breath, n try again in a couple of minutes.

I bought one a few weeks ago and absolutely love being able to check up on the little. It’s not hard once you know what sounds to look out for. Granted I do work in the medical field I can tell between my artery sounds and the baby’s heart rate, but if you watch a YouTube video you’ll be able to learn which one is which based on the rate. Baby’s heart rate will be much higher than your own! On the danger side, Doppler’s are completely safe when used in moderation, and by moderation I mean I use mine every night before bed to listen to baby. If you were going to sit the probe on your belly for 5+ hours then there might be a very small chance of the sound waves heating surrounding tissue. But again, that’s only if you’re using it nonstop for hours on end 🤷🏻‍♀️. If you feel like it would give you peace of mind I say go for it! They’re relatively inexpensive and it always makes me feel so much better knowing my baby’s heart is still ticking.

It’s only not safe when ladies are experiencing reduced movement but assume everything is ok as baby still has a heartbeat so they don’t go get checked out. During later pregnancy it’s so important to take note of the movement as heartbeat doesn’t mean baby is 100% fine as it maybe struggling

If you do buy one it has been said that you should not use it daily as it “could” be harmful for the baby.
So the question you should ask yourself before purchasing is do I have enough strength to only use it when I feel like something could be wrong or once a month to just check in. I wouldn’t have that strength so it’s something I know I can’t purchase.
