I GOT A NOSE JOB
I finally did it and am SO happy! I was so sure I’d back out, literally they were about the inject the anesthesia and I almost called it off because I was so terrified. But I effing DID IT.
1 week of mouth breathing and being stuck in my house with a cast on my face, but after the cast was taken off, I’m good as new.

The tip is ridiculously swollen, but I don’t think it looks abnormal and I’m still so happy with it!

FAQ:
COST? I paid $9,200 CAD but this varies from surgeon to surgeon and country to country. Also plan to budget for time off work (1-2 weeks based on my experience) if you don’t get paid time off, potential travel/accommodation costs if you’re getting it done out of town, and medical supplies for home. If you’re getting it done for purely cosmetic reasons (in Canada at least) there is no coverage from insurance. My clinic did not take payments on the surgery, so it must be paid in full. There are however private companies that will lend money with interest for cosmetic procedures- ask your surgeon for suggestions.
RECOVERY? I’m sure everyone is different but for me, one week! As soon as I got the cast off on day 7 I went out for lunch with a friend and went grocery shopping. Honestly probably would have been out in day 5 if it wasn’t for the cast. I was significantly swollen for the first month I would say and then it settled.
To all the ladies considering the surgery, do your research! I think I watched every rhinoplasty experience video on YouTube! Get the app RealSelf, it’s an app where you can look at surgeons in your area to get an idea of who you like and their average price. There is also a community board (similar to this) and a board where you can ask reputable surgeons questions. If you can’t find them on the App Store, they also have Facebook and Instagram! They’re really eager to help and reassure you, it’s a lovely community!
