Is Masturbation wrong??

This goes for both questions that are only days apart. From a Christian POV, the act itself is not sin. No act in itself is sin, though some can only be done through sin making them indirectly, but constantly, sinful actions. Masturbation often involves a need for lust to fuel the fires of sexual arousal and allow for the act to finish and climax. The lust aspect makes it sin without question. It makes it adultery, the one sin that God allows divorce to occur under (though He still hates it and doesn’t want it to happen. It’s just allowed only). That being said, sexual arousal for a spouse is probably allowable. If it’s done out of laziness and selfishness, sin. If it’s because of genuine need, such as the following example, it might be permissible. A husband on a business trip hasn’t had sex in a while and is feeling strong desires and temptation with pay-per-view right in front of him. He texts his wife for pictures and instead goes that route. While not good, it’s not sinful. The ultimate question should be if it glorifies God. If it doesn’t, probably not something to be done.

Any sexual act is intended for the married man and woman to be together. Also, the problem you face with you or your spouse masturbating to pictures of one another is it takes away this act of sanctification. Not only that but most people (usually men) have a hard time stopping at just those pictures. It could be a huge stumbling block for them or yourself to have this need for more, and a willingness to look at pornography. To me, why risk it?

I am torn between this too. I believe that God has designed sex to be between two consenting adults in a form of long term relationship. Cause that is when it is healthiest. However masturbation is proven to be a healthy thing to do. I struggle to understand why getting to know yourself and what you enjoy can be entirely sinful. But I believe it's your personal choice and the way your understand God and interpret His Word. ❤️
