Is it really worth it to have a babyshower?

I have two friends who recently had a baby one of my friends are well off and she told me it's pointless to have one if you have to throw it and I can use the money to buy my baby stuff. I have another friend who doesn't really have a lot of money she had a baby shower and went all out looked very expensive. I thought about it when your pregnant you get fat as hell so you would have to buy a outfit get your hair done to look and feel pretty make up nails and toes plus venue food etc and my friend that had a babyshower it wasn't a lot of people there and she didn't even get a lot of stuff

Yes. My in laws threw ours. They went all out, it was so cute and fun lol. We were also gifted everything and all we had to buy was cloth diapers

We did a low key shower. We just did a cookout at our house, men and women. If people wanted to bring a gift they did, if not no big deal. We asked everyone to bring a side dish, we grilled the meat. it was no big thing, I threw my hair up, no make up, walked around in my bathing suit all day. It was more about just having fun with family and friends.

Even if you have a baby shower you don’t have to spend much. You don’t have to buy a new outfit, you don’t have to get your hair done special, you don’t have to get a manicure and pedicure. Hell you don’t have to wear makeup. You also don’t have to spend any money on decorations. What’s the point if the decorations are just going to be thrown in the trash. You can also easily make it a pitch in and have people bring food. I think people get too wrapped up in throwing and awesome party they forget that it’s supposed to be a celebration for the baby. I feel the same way about weddings. Why spend all that money when you can easily celebrate without spending a crap ton of money? 🤷‍♀️

Generally someone in your family or friend group throws the shower, not you. So that means you aren’t paying for it. If someone wants to throw you one, I’d go for it. I wouldn’t do my own tho.

My mother-in-law threw me a baby shower, and although I’m not huge on parties and celebrations, I don’t regret it at all. It was so nice to see so many people getting excited and gushing over me and my hubby’s baby. It was just really great to be able to share those feelings with so many friends and family, and the gifts were a huge plus. Everyone went all out and we barely have had to buy anything for her.

I didn’t have to pay for my shower my mom and sister did.. it was worth it for me I got like 2 month supply of diapers wipes and clothes.. but depends on your situation. I didn’t spend a lot of money to look nice that day.. bought a decent priced dressed... did my own makeup and hair and already had my nails done lol

I think you dont need to go above and beyond when throwing a baby shower. All of the showers in my family are at someones house with a fruit salad, chicken salad, and cupcakes. A few games with small prizes but in no way does anyone spend tons of money throwing the party or get too dressed up. I think its worth it if you have people in your life that want to gift you and your child things to help start this new adventure.

It’s your choice. I didn’t spend a lot on my shower and everything was DIY. (Decor wise) and I got everything I needed. Clothes, diapers, wipes, socks, hats, blankets, a swing and travel system. We only had to buy bottles lol no clothes or anything. Clothes I got lasted 6 months 🙌🏻
