I need a little bit of “girl talk” right now.

For starters, I’m 16, have a boyfriend (16 turning 17), and from the title, a virgin. My boyfriend and I have talked about sex, and that we both want to wait until we are ready. Well, in recent events (about 3 months have gone by since that convo) we both have realized that we want each other in that way. I feel ready, and I feel safe, comfortable, trusting, and highly attracted to and with him. So, do y’all have any advice for ya girl? How was your first time? In your best opinion do you think we could be ready for that step? Oh, and I am on birth control medication and we have agreed if this happens he is to wear protection (thought I should add that). Anywho, ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT!
