Newborns eyes....help?👀

My baby is a week old and whenever she opens them they go crossed. They seem to be a little better and look straight sometimes but also sometimes go googly. When I took her to her doctors appointment the doctor said something about it and said if it isn’t better by 6 months I will have to go to eye doctor for her. Is this normal? I am freaking out...

It’s normal for new babies. They’re learning how to see on the outside and focus on things. It should get better! Don’t stress about it.

It's super normal. My son was like that for a while and it definitely freaked me out but the Dr never said anything bad about it. He's 6 months now and hasn't done it in months. 😊

Babies barely have control over eye movement at that point and can’t really focus on anything. Perfectly normal.

It’s normal! A newborn’s vision isn’t that great. They can’t see far, everything is blurry to them except what is up close to their face. Their eyes are adjusting and trying to learn to focus on things. This happened with my son who is just now 2 months. He doesn’t go very crossed eyed anymore and I can tell he can see a lot more things b/c he loves to look around!

Is totally normal. If it doesn't straighten out by 6 months, they can treat it. First with eye drops to encourage the baby to develop their eye muscles. But if that doesn't work, they do day surgery on the muscles of the eye to help straighten them out. It's a very simple and safe procedure.

Completely normal! I was worried too when I had my daughter, she was CERY very cross eyed but after like 3 weeks-a month she gained control of her eyes 💓

Totally normal. My son’s eyes were a little wonky his first few weeks, and when he was sleepy, they’d go completely googly. They don’t do that anymore. :)
