Wanting to move from Oregon to SoCal. What part would you recommend?

I wouldn’t move to LA unless you already have a job secured and spouse because both are hard to come by here. Whatever your standard of living is expect it to be less. I moved from a two story house, granite appliances, with a yard in TX for $1600 (for my husbands job) and was surely surprised when I realized no apartments under $3k have an a/c or even a window unit and landlords to the least possible to maintain. My apt is $1900 and soooo old but that’s on the cheaper side bc I’m in a rent controlled building and have been here for a while. Expect to pay for parking for everything. Do your research and look online at westsiderentals.com (I think apartments.com bought them out). If you’re looking for a house I don’t have advice as most ppl don’t have one in LA. I don’t have an opinion on the other cities as I’ve only visited San Diego as a tourist. Good luck with whatever you decide tho!
