Getting a present on your siblings birthday...

What are people’s thoughts on this?

It’s my nieces 10th birthday today (on my partners side) and his mum always buys our nephew (7 in December) a small present so he doesn’t feel left out.

We’ve just been round to give her our present and whilst we were there his Mum and Dad came round with with their presents. I really felt awful for my niece as whilst she was opening her presents her Nana’s attention was all on my nephew, with a fuss being made of him rather than her!

I really don’t agree with it. When growing up me and my sister never got presents for each others birthdays and I can honestly say I never felt left out or jealous when it was her birthday

I’m currently pregnant with our first child but have already told my partner that when we have another (hopefully!!) it’s not something I want her to do!
