SO ITCHY but only after sex??

For the last few months, every time my husband and I have sex I get insanely itchy and consequently have swelling and burning on the inner labia. We have not had very frequent sex lately, but every time we do, this happens.

It has happened when we use a condom and when we don’t.

When he pulls out and when he doesn’t.

When we use lube and when we don’t.

The itching lasts sometimes up to several days.

I wash my vulva with a washcloth and warm water and sometimes with a gentle soap every time immediately after we have sex.

I do have some miconazole nitrate cream designed for vaginal yeast infections which I have used on the external vulva and gotten some relief from.

Is this a yeast infection? I was under the impression that a yeast infection would be increasingly itchy with thick discharge and a foul odor. This seems to only be triggered by sex, and only in the last few months? No discharge, no odor.

Also tonight I complained about being extremely itchy from last nights sex and my husband said he was really itchy earlier but it went away.

Would love some input from others, and I’ll most likely be calling my gyno tomorrow. Thanks!
