Midwife ? 🤔

Question

I know there’s a difference with doctor and midwife, but is it too late to get a midwife? I would really want one and there’s a specific one I want because she was so sweet and explained things to me so well I just loved her when I went into triage for a FFN test. If I could, how would I ? Would I have to ask my doctor or ?

Definitely not too late! With my first I switched from a doctor to midwife around 26 weeks. I just told the midwifes office I wanted to transfer, signed a records release form for them, and then they handled getting my paperwork switched over from the doctors office. I never even had to talk to the doctor.

With my first I had a midwife as my hospital network only really gives midwifes at first, actual obgyns if you have more risks to your pregnancy. I don’t think there is too much of a difference honestly if you have a normal pregnancy. Ask your doctor or scheduling area if you can switch to her

I just switched to a midwife and my first appt is friday...you just have to let the midwife know you wanna switch and sign a records release form at your current docs office
