Registry madness

Shalyn • First time parents so excited !

Anyone else make a registry for their unborn baby? And is anyone else having serious issues with friends and family as a result? My baby shower is coming up and either people have ignored the amazon registry link on the invite or in my eldest sisters case she pointblank looked at my registry and decided she could “find it cheaper elsewhere” and got stuff from Walmart. The thing my husband and I painstakingly went over each item spending hours reading reviews making sure the items wouldn’t be too expensive but also wouldn’t be low quality. It’s an amazon registry so we have a bath on their for 21$ and I’ve offered everyone who is invite use of one of our 2 amazon prime accounts ! For free shipping- not to mention there is a 30 day free trial also so no reason this isn’t doable. Yet my sister finds this 19.99$ bath at Walmart and buys this instead - a 1$ difference AND I’ve looked it up and it’s trash! Terrible reviews, everyone says it’s too small doesn’t grow with the baby and slips everywhere! It basically is a nightmare bath with reviews in big letters saying “DO NOT PURCHASE”. I don’t know what to do because I felt as if I was being pretty fair on my registry with items ranging from 6$-100$ for low budget things and big ticket items going from 150-365$. I even enabled group gifting so you could put as little as 30$ down towards a bigger gift. Yet it seems like the people in my life are out to literally attempt to save a buck. 1 dollar! What should I do? Before she made the purchase I informed her we reviewed he brands and told her she could huy elsewhere as long as she matched my items exactly and also informs my mother so she can take the now purchased item off the registry (we don’t need 2 of things) yet my mother tells me she’s done this and I guess I’m emotional cause I feel like crying. I didn’t want this to be stressful. I feel so unsupported. Any advice ?
