Does anyone else leave their dog home when they go to other peoples houses or run errands?

My boyfriend is upset with me and has been giving me the silent treatment because I won’t pick up the dog when I get out of class to take him to my moms. He has called into work the last two days to stay at home with him. He believes the dog will create separation anxiety issues. Our pup is a pitbull and we love him but not everyone else feels the same about his breed or dogs in general. He is one and getting pretty big. I don’t feel like I should have to bring our dog everywhere especially unannounced to other peoples houses. What are your opinions on this? Am I in the wrong?
