Timing contractions?

I feel like I have no idea how to time these... FTM here. Woke up to cramping and what I believe to be contractions. However, it’s more like a constant wave of pain and I can’t really figure out when they start/stop. Any advice? 😐

Real ones are easy to time. If you cant time them just try wait to see if they get  a rhythm

I was induced worth my first, so I have an app downloaded waiting for them to start

From the minute you first feel a contraction(cramping and tightening of the uterus)  to when the next one starts. Should be 5 minutes.

I’ve read that if you are having a hard time determining the start/end, have you or someone else put a hand at the top of your fundus (top of your bump, where the doc measures to at your appointments). You should feel the muscles contract and become firm/harden as your contractions start, and then it will release as it ends.
