I have a 12 month lease, currently I have 6 months of it left. I don’t know if every lease is different but I was wondering how and what you have to do to break a lease and move out. The people here are EXTREMELY picky, you’re not allowed to smoke inside your home, which I’m fine with I don’t even smoke, you have to smoke outside, so my SO put a chair out front to sit when he smokes and it was only there for a day when we got a letter on the front door saying we had to get the chair off the porch. So he moved to the back porch to smoke. And then another day I left my shoes outside in the sun to dry, and the next day there was a letter on the door. I literally left a trash bag on the porch from the early morning until my SO got home to take it to the big trash can across the street, that wasn’t even a day, it was a few HOURS, and there was a letter on the door. And now we have a letter on our door about my pit bull. They knew we had a pit bull, where perfectly fine with it, there’s even other pits in the complex, but now we get a letter saying the breeds not allowed and we have to get rid of her by the 23rd, and they’ll have someone come inspect the house to make sure she’s gone. I’d rather just move out? I can literally move into any other place, I have the funds and everything to do it, I’m just wondering what breaking the lease does.
