Please someone help this desperate mumma!

My little boy has always nursed to sleep and mostly stayed asleep for a good period of time, even sleeping through some nights.

Over the last 4 days I’ve had an awful time with him at night. He goes down ok, then a couple of hours later he’s awake and crying, so as soon as I get him back to sleep and put him back in his cot he jolts awake and screams his head off.

He used to self soothe but he doesn’t anymore, he just cries and cries until I end up going back in there and nursing him back to sleep again, only for him to instantly wake back up!

Could this be teething? Tummy ache? He’s not been ill lately and seems ok in himself. I’m not getting any sleep anymore and neither is he.

I’m sorry for the long post, I’m just completely at a loss here and don’t know what to do. 😖
