So I’ve never really had a great relationship with my M In Law, there’s a language barrier which makes communicating pretty hard. She’s a very stubborn prideful person, that’s why she literally has no friends and doesn’t get along with her husband’s side of the family. My bf recently proposed, and when he told her she was mad about it. She wants me to be “more involved in the family” but she never really tries talking to me. I ask her questions here and there but she never does the same. When I seen her after the proposal she didn’t say congratulations or even acknowledge it. Which hurt my feelings. I know if I marry her son she’s gonna be in my life forever but is it bad that I don’t really care if she likes me or not? I’m not the type that really NEEDS validation from people. I’ve tried being myself and it seems like it’s not enough for her.
