Why would doctors make you do 3 glucose tests

I passed the first 2 and at 29 weeks he is weighing 4 lbs 10oz got a letter in the mail saying I have to pay for the ultrasounds bc they are medically unnecessary but the doctors keep ordering them :(

Your doctor isn’t using the right code for ultrasounds if you’ve gotten a bill, if they ordered it, they need to use a code that reflects that the doctor wanted to check something. 
You shouldn’t be paying unless you are asking for say, 4D, or to show family etc. I had a threatened miscarriage ultrasound at 10 weeks and my midwife front office used the wrong code so I just had to have them resubmit and it was covered.

It’s because diabetes can start later in pregnancy. So if you were at high risk for diabetes in pregnancy they might order a couple to make sure they caught you early if you had it early and check again later in case you develop it later. But I agree, you can decline it if you don’t want to!!
