My opinion is if you’re old enough to get married. Why give a promise ring if you’re a guy who wants the commitment why not propose. I think that promise rings are for 14-17 year olds. If your grown and love each other why not have an engagement!!! You don’t have to get married right away it could be a long engagement.

It’s easy to SAY you want to marry someone but SHOWING them with a gesture like this tells the person how serious you are. My fiancé gave me one last year, he just proposed to me on Friday :) promise rings really are special. He obviously really loves.

And for the people saying promise rings are for kids...WRONG AF. Promise rings come early into the relationship, how are you gonna propose in less than a year of knowing someone. If a guy really loves a girl but it’s too soon for engagement, giving her a promise ring is very sweet. People who disagree are probably single or with someone who isn’t willing to give THEM a ring (promise or engagement) lol.

We are both 22 and have only been dating for almost 6 months . He was previously engaged in his last relationship , but that ended due to her cheating on him. This is the only guy that I’ve been in love with , but I’m not ready to be engaged to him just yet. I do believe that I want to marry him someday, however, I want to see how it goes with him and I living together first. He and I have been living together for about a month or two now . 😊 I think maybe a year or a year and a half from now he might propose and I will be ready by then 😊

I personally believe they’re a super thoughtful and meaningful thing to get a girl in high school (if you’re in high school then this is awesome 😊). But when I see adults give other adults promise rings I just don’t see the point. Like why give a woman a promise ring and not an engagement ring?

personally i don’t have any strong opinions about them, but i also don’t have a strong desire to get married. it would take someone really special for me to make a legal and expensive commitment like that to. personally i think if we know what’s going on then that’s all that matters 🤷🏻‍♀️ but i definitely think the sentiment behind promise rings is adorable, and your ring is gorgeous!! i just have a very strange way of looking at things, lol.
