Inguinal hernia and exercise

I have developed an inguinal hernia on one side (my doctor says just from all the pressure of my abdomen pushing down). It isn’t super uncomfortable but it looks so ugly...basically it looks like one side of my pubic region is swollen. Anywhooo, I’m not super concerned about it because my doctor didn’t seem that worried and said it will most likely resolve on its own after birth. But, now that I have it my husband is really anxious about me working out. I’m used to lifting weights 3-4 times a week and he wants me to stop completely, which is super frustrating to me. Hard to stay in shape throughout this pregnancy and I feel like is all going to go to waste if I stop exercise cold turkey. Has anyone dealt with this issue? I know I can still do yoga and light cardio (walking on an incline) but I really think resistance workouts are helpful in keeping in shape and I want to do lots of squats to get my body ready for hopefully a natural labor! I feel like I’m stuck and my husband is making me feel guilty about wanting to keep exercising
