Do you use baby powder?

I was recently reprimanded by a friend for using baby powder on my babygirl after every diaper change because it “causes cervical cancer”. But I use J&J cornstarch baby powder which is completely safe. Talc powder is the one that supposedly makes your chance for cervical cancer higher. It made me wonder how other mamas feel about this and how many mamas are unaware of the issue completely.

I was told not to use it as baby can breath it in and can cause respiratory issues. If you do use it, apply it to hand first then baby so it does not fill the air.

FYI for those mamas using the talc: it makes the chance for cervical cancer 20-30% higher. There are no known preventions for cervical cancer. But a great place to start is avoiding talc powder.

I use powder sometimes in the summer when baby seems to have a harder time drying out because of heat and humidity

My LO had a diaper rash, and using corn starting actually caused her to have a yeast diaper rash! So just look out for that! 
But I really think baby powder is kind of pointless. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I haven’t seen it really help with anything.

I had never heard of it but I started babysitting a little girl and her parents use it for every diaper change, just sprinkle a little on her and she’s never had a rash so I’d say there’s something to it. When I did daycare for years all the moms used diaper creams but none used powder which I thought was interesting
