Castor oil at 38 weeks... anyone try it?

Anyone use castor oil at 38 weeks and it work? I used it with my first son but I was 6 days past due at that point. Anyone else have success using it at 38-39 weeks?

No, it can cause your baby to poop wile still inside or during labor. If they swallow or inhale it, it can make them very sick and possibly die. Not remotely worth the risk.

You will find sucess stories online but there are also a lot of deaths related to castor oil use. You were lucky with your first that he was okay. I wouldnt advise you take that risk again. Your still 2 weeks from your due date dont rush it

It isn’t a proven way to induce...especially if you’re body and baby isn’t ready yet. It can cause dehydration and the labor to be longer and harder considering the stomach discomfort and diarrhea it can cause you and your baby to have. The baby can have a bowel movement and ingest it. It hasn’t been proven safe! I’d stay away from it. Not worth the risk.
