I was walking my dog(black lab) in the dark tonight and she stopped and laid down right in front of my feet and I didnt see her and tripped over her. Landed on the cement on my right knee, right hand/wrist, and back. I made sure not to let myself land on my belly. Everything hurts, my knee is scraped up, my back hurts, my ribs hurt, and my neck hurts. I've taken Tylenol, and used the heating pad. My neck is hurting something fierce. Mainly im worried about baby. I'm 18 weeks and 4 days. Should I...?

I’m sure your baby is fine, but probably go ahead and call your OB and explain what happened and how you’re feeling. Let them decide if you should come in to get checks out or go to the ER or just stay home.

Always call your OB with any type of fall. That has always been told to me by my doctors through my pregnancies. They will let you know if they want you to come in or not.

I’d talk to your OB because if you go to the ER, the first thing they’re going to want to do it X-ray all the areas in pain. Then you have to make the call as to whether you’ll consent to radiation while pregnant. They have lead shields to protect the baby, but there are several areas that hurt from what you said. Each of those areas is about three pictures each. So neck, wrist, knee, ribs (I can’t remember if you said others), that alone is about 12 X-rays. (I’m a radiology student)
So talk to your OB first and let them make that call. Usually, you’ll be sore for about 3 days and then you’ll notice things starting to feel better progressively. I’m sure all is ok! 😊
