Safety of the pill?

Kayla • I'm 21 and a Health Education major, with goals of specializing in functional nutrition.
I'm 21 years old, I started taking the pill when I was 14 because I had the most horrible  cramps ever. The 1st 2 days of my period I'd be throwing up from the amount of pain I was in and my obgyn said birth control was my only option really and it was most likely caused by endometriosis. So the pills have really helped the pain but now that I'm finding so much research on the dangers of newer bc I just stopped taking it from fear of pulmonary embolisms. Over a hundred young healthy women have died from these newer forms of bc and that just terrifies me a lot more than pain or the risks of getting pregnant. Also the huge increased chances of breast cancer. What are your thoughts on this?
