So I never thought twice about cups. I have always used tampons and have never really had an issue with them. Which is why it surprised me when I suddenly became interested in the cup.

I ordered one and it came in the end of day 2 of my period. I was kind of relieved that I would get to try it on my lighter days. Yesterday I put it in and had trouble getting it to open (despite the tons or articles and videos I researched). I put it in and took it out a few times with no luck. I have an 11 month old running around though so I didn't have alot of time to invest right then.

Well right before bed I tried again and after walking around a bit it seemed to open. So I went to bed. I woke up with no leaks so it must have been in right.

I get in the shower and y'all, I can't get it out! I was never worried about struggling to get it out because I put it in and took it out so many times before it opened, I didn't think it'd be an issue.

After a solid 5-7 minutes (and a little panic) I got it out 😲.

I washed it, put it back in (I think it opened?) and now I'm at work. I keep thinking I'm crazy for chancing wearing it at work when 1. I don't know if it's in right and 2. I don't think I'll be able to get it out in my work public bathroom if I need to 😕.

Wish me luck! lol. Any tips to get it out would be appreciated as well. I relaxed, beared down, reached as far as I could in there, pushed on it to break the seal....and honestly I'm not sure what actually worked to get it out.

You need to pinch the cup the break the seal. If you can’t reach then bare down to push the cup down further. The cup uses suction to work so it needs to break before coming out. As for seeing if it’s open you run your finger along the side and feel for any dents or folds. If you feel none then it’s open otherwise it needs adjusting. I typically pull it a little then press it back and that usually works. Some people spin it and that works. I’ve never had to empty mine in public though as I easily can go 13-15 hours if I need to with it in.

I typically can pinch right at the bottom and be fine but if you can’t get it then I’d try higher. It shouldn’t be hard to remove once the seals broken

so I was pinching at the base while bearing down. I was able to pinch but it just wouldn't come out. I even reached my fingers up to try to break the seal higher on the cup. I just couldnt get it. I think maybe my hands were too slippery? How far uo on the cup do you pinch it? I was just getting the very bottom, maybe I need to get higher. I have a high cervix so the cup seems to go pretty far up 😬

You need to pinch the base of the cup to break the seal and fold it a bit to get it out. Just relax when you’re doing it. It takes a couple tries to get used to it.

that may help, thanks!

I remove mine on the toilet. It’s hard for me to do while standing. Maybe try doing it sitting on the toilet?

For some reason I couldnt get ahold of it well enough to actually pull it out. Maybe because my fingers were wet from the shower. Where do you remove yours?

As far as knowing if it's open I normally fold, insert then let it go up just enough let it open (because you can feel it open when it's more towards the beginning of the vaginal canal) then I insert towards my cervix. Its difficult for me bc the opening to my cervix seems to be slightly off to the left. Cups are tricky just started a thread about leaks!

I always take mine out in the shower but I have to make sure my fingers are dry. If I let them get wet under the water then everything slips and I panic. I just aim the shower head slightly to the side til I get it out and then shower as normal and put the cup back in at the end. There's a learning curve but so easy once you get it down! 😊

Once you get a good grip and pinch the base it should release the seal, good luck! 😊
