Tonsils large but ok?

Question

Okay, I took my 9 month old to the ear and throat specialist. He said, my baby’s tonsils were large but his throat looked fine. However, he does have a tongue tie but we’ve been knowing that. 
Anyways I know I shouldn’t worry about his tonsils cause he didn’t act concern, but as a mother I’m always concerned about my child. 
My question is has anyone ever been through this? Have large tonsils but he fine??

Both my daughter have large tonsils. My oldest got hers removed when she was 3.

I have large tonsils and the only time they bother me is when I have gotten strep. They swell up to the point of touching. My oldest has large tonsils too. His dr said that he should be fine as long as he doesn’t develop sleep apnea. We told her that he does snore but he doesn’t stop breathing or anything. It’s not a big deal really.

My husband, daughter, sister in law, niece and nephew all have/had large tonsils. Unfortunately for us they run in my husband's family and are so large they have caused all of them to have obstructive sleep apnea. My husband and sister in law had to have theirs removed, my nephew is on the waitlist for surgery to have his removed, my daughter is having her out on Tuesday and my niece is waiting to see the specialist next month about hers.
The specialist did say with my daughter that she had "kissing tonsils" so they are naturally so big that they are touching each other then when she falls asleep they completely block the airways, I asked him to have a look at my sons while we were there just out of curiosity as it runs in the family and he said they were large but that's normal for a 9month old. And to keep an eye on him and check again when his older.
