Water breaking? 37weeks+

When should I start feeling contractions after water breaking? Gush of water and slight pinkish discharge started this morning. Felt like period discharge when walking or standing up. Not sure if it was my water breaking or just a "bloody show"

My water broke and I never got contractions. Just go to L&D. They do a simple swab to confirm if your water broke. It’s very common for women to go in needing to get tested. Lots of times it’s just discharge or urine but you never know until they test it.

My water broke with my first in bed. It woke me. Thought I peed the bed. My contractions started within 30-45 minutes on the way to the hospital. You need to get to labor and delivery immediately to avoid infection for you and the baby.

if your water broke you need to go to labor and delivery they have to deliver that baby within so many hours or else you guys run into risk of infection for not only you and baby.

If your water breaks you’re at a greater risk for infection if you wait to go in. My water broke and I didn’t realize it was my water at first so I waited 8 hours. I never got contractions. They started me on pitocin when I got to the hospital. I had to stay an extra night in the hospital so my daughter could be monitored since my membranes had been ruptured too long.

You should call your doctor. After 24 hours they’ll typically induce you so you don’t get an infection.
