Corpus luteum dip?

So I was doing some research and found out about the corpus luteum(not really sure what it does or means) but could it be the cause of my dip then rise from yesterday to today?

CL is the left over follicle after ovulation, it releases the progesterone hormone. When the CL breaks down, progesterone drops off and your period starts. If pregnant, it does not degenerate but produce progesterone until the placenta is able to take over at about 10 weeks along or so. Its a very important structure. If you failed to ovulate, you do not have a CL
