Confused PLEASE GIVE IMPUT

I had 3 days where it was brown spotting only when I wiped 12 days before my period... my period came a day late & its not even a period?? I have no cramps nothing it doesnt even fill up a tampon & its red & sometimes brown blood is this a period?? I had a FAINT line on a test 3 days ago..
