You should probably know the person's name before getting married, but other than that ... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Some cultures still do arranged marriages where you don't meet until you're at the alter. As long as you're both consenting ADULTS in that situation, meh do what you will 🤷🏼‍♀️

I chose doesn't matter because some people just....KNOW. 
Some people meet and the knot immediately. 
My SO have been dating for three years now (just hit our anniversary on October 20th) and even though there are nights where we giggle and talk about getting engaged or getting married down at the courthouse, we know that it's not time yet. We both work, do college work and have a dog. We know pretty much everything about one another, but there are times when we learn something new. We are waiting because we are not financially ready yet. We both have a lot of debt from school and my car accident so once the amount decreases, it will be perfect timing. 
Sometimes waiting is nice, but like I said, once you know, you know and it's all up to the couple to decided when to get married.

Depends more on age. I dated my husband for 9 years before we got married...but we started dating at 15. If you are 35 and established in life you are probably by that point looking to marry, not dating for the fun of it, so I’d say anything after a year or two is fine.

Honestly, I say 4+ years because I’ve gotten into abusive relationships where it starts years later. Maybe I’m just traumatized
