how is the cervix supposed to feel right before period?

my period is in 1 day. yesterday I had sudden cramps and lower back pain for a few min then went away and I had a wetness and thought I was starting my period but it was just watery/creamy cm. today when I checked my cervix it was low and very soft. is it supposed to be like this for period or is this how it is during early pregnancy?

Using the cervix method isn’t always the best method to see if your pregnant or not in early pregnancy you could have low cervix leaning or low cervix could be hard or soft people have had low cervix’s all through their first trimester x

I looked it up on google and it’s supposed to be low firm and open for period, high soft and closed for early pregnancy  or ovulation

I know your cervix sits low leading up to/during your period. Can’t remember whether it’s supposed to be firm/soft at that time though.
