So I just recently met SO’s family and they are AMAZING.

It’s totally different than my parents (only family I have here) I got home tonight to tell them about my amazing day/night with my SO’s family and they both were just being incredibly negative about it. I told them that they’d really get along with his parents and maybe they could all be friends. They replied with..

“Oh we don’t like anyone... ha just kidding....”

Then my mom started yelling at her dogs and asked me to go away and tell me about my day tomorrow because she’s “cranky”

It was coming from a positive happy environment to a complete shit negative environment.... it hurt my feelings but I just realized I shouldn’t let it bother me.

Any opinions on why my parents would be acting this way? It just seems a bit odd to me. Like they could be making new friends and being happy but instead they want to talk shit and just act like I’m a complete annoyance

I also have a hunch it’s because myself and my son have been hanging out with my SO and his family a lot..

SIDE NOTE: I am 23 and yes I am moving out soon.
