Fiancé went to far?

Last night I went to bed and my fiancé stayed up, he said he couldn’t sleep so he was watching tv. I woke up and I saw over 80 photos were deleted and I asked him about it and he said he deleted pictures that I had with some of my exes and just guys in general. I just got really upset like those pics were from 2 years ago, and I kept them Bc they’re memories. Should I be upset? Did he go too far? He deleted all his pics with his exes too but I didn’t really ask him to.. idk. PSA: it was only one ex that he deleted and mind you I was 14 when I dated him. He also deleted pictures I had with guys I’ve never dated but just had pictures with from high school . Also, none were inappropriate and I never had sex with any of them. I just had a lot of friends Bc I was involved in a lot in high school.

Wow he had no right to delete your photos.  That is way over the line imo.  That's very controlling and definitely a HUGE RED FLAG. :(

I think it was inappropriate for him to delete your pictures without your permission.   If they were nudes, I could understand why he would be bothered, but if they were just regular pictures and you don't look at them all the time, he shouldn't be upset by their existence.   Even if they were sexual, he should have asked you to get rid of them rather than doing it himself.

That would rub me the wrong way because he didn't communicate with you. He just sort of bulldozed you. DH and I had a similar situation where he had a ton of photos with old girlfriends or hook up chicks. They were all a little racy though so I asked him if he wouldn't mind taking those down. Not the ones that were just good times or high school etc.
Sounds like your fiance had good intensions but went about it the wrong way.

He could have asked you to delte it if it was important to him. It's a little weird he just went ahead and did it.
I would be pissed not because the pictures necessarily were important, but going through my stuff and deciding what needed to happen with it is too much.

Why would you want pictures of ex’s if you’re marrying this guy? That’s Really weird to me. Memories or not, there should be no reason to want to hold onto those pictures. That’s just me though 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think he should of talked to you about it before taking it into his own hands though.

I deleted all photos of my ex’s after we broke up (minus prom pictures because that was my prom and my friends are in those too) I can understand why he doesn’t want them around but he went about it the wrong way.

I would have done the same thing lol. Shouldn’t of even had the photos to begin with. I get some were with friends but how would he really know if they were just a friend?? It would make me uncomfortable too. And if you love him, making him feel secure in the relationship would be more important than reminiscing on old friends and exes

I think that maybe deep down he feels protective over you and he feels like if he deleted all his pictures with females and then sees that you have over 80 with males then he’d get upset. It’s a matter of conversation, but it sucks that you’ll never get those back. But, it’s scary to think that you can’t even fall asleep next to him without thinking he’s gonna go through all your things and just delete stuff. Sleeping next to someone is supposed to make you feel safe, not paranoid.
