Rash!?

My son will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and got this rash on his face after his bath tonight. He and I took a bath together tonight seems that the only way he enjoys bathing. This was the side of his face that was up against my breast. Anyone know if it’s just heat rash, allergic to something, or something else? He seems to get rashes on his face often. I’m not sure if I should be worried. He has very sensitive skin, worse than my other 3 kids.

My baby girl has a rash that is similar to that. We went to the doctor and was told that essentially it’s cradle cap, seborrheic dermatitis, that’s spreading to the face. It is usually not painful and will go away in time. I’ve noticed with her that after baths it seems to be really red like that because she screams her head off as soon as she gets out of the water. My doctor said that we could use the lowest otc hydrocortisone a few times a week when it’s really bad. I’ve also been using the California baby calendula cream and it helps a lot. Obviously check with your doctor before anything but just wanted to make sure you don’t feel alone :)

When you say "took a bath together" do you mean you sat in the water with him or you actually bathe yourself as well?

Yes I sat in the water with him and washed him with his soap. I don’t not bathe myself. I just soaked with him to comfort him. He screams during baths alone. Last time I bathed him he got so upset he vomited all over himself. It was so sad.
