I'm a devout Christian. I don't believe evolution created me or any living thing. I believe God did. That said, I also appreciate science. It helps us understand God's creation.

Religion is the rock, and science is the water eroding the rock away.

I'm not religious. I believe in evolution.

The Bible is God's word told through man. It is not a book God sent done and we just made copies. Also the Bible most of us read is not the true original bible. It is the bible that kings and governments wanted us to read. Also, time was told very differently during those times. We read of men being 200 years old, which was true to them but to us he was more like 70 years old. Same thing with the work being created in 7 days. To God it may have felt like 7 days but in reality it was more like millions of years. He built in the ability to evolve because he loved all his creatures and wanted them to survive. That is why you see humans and animals evolving. He loves us and wants us all to live forever.

I went to a Christian school. We were taught that biblical literalism makes no sense in terms of evolutionary biology and that science is a path to fully understanding gods creation and thus appreciating it.

My grandfather was going to be a priest when he still lived in Mexico but decided to leave when he learned that you had to teach the current beliefs of the church and not the bible. For one he didn't believe in the whole sins of the mother and father bull. He believed that children are the most pure souls. He is a strict believe in BOTH! Science gives us the explanation that GOD can't. Where as FAITH gives us explanation for things science doesn't understand yet. They both work together. If you believe in one or the other and not both at the same time then you will never fully understand how the world works.

First of all if you want to believe in God and God is all powerful, then anything under God is possible especially evolution. Secondly the bible is a collection of writings that were deemed acceptable by priests and Constantine in the council of Nicaea and not necessarily the word of God. Many other writings were left out because they contradicted what Constatine and the priests of that council wanted to put forward as a religion of man. Believe what every fairy tales you want but evolution is real and all around us. Do not poison the minds of children and ruin the painfully slow progress man has made since the dark ages by throwing us back in it with fairy tale notions.

In my opinion the bible is completely fictional.... Let's be honest, do you really think people of Jerusalem or "Jesus" brothers would be called James and Simon? And mum and dad called Mary and Joseph? Most likely written by an artistic darling of its time. I don't mean to offend anyone, each to their own. I personally don't have any religious beliefs. People are people, some are good and some are bad. Scientific evolution is factual, their are the bones to prove it in museums.
