Question

So my soon to be 11 month old, breastfed, spoiled child still doesn’t sleep. It’s like maybe 30 minutes to start the night in her crib then she’s done. She demands to sleep between me and my husband no matter what I do. I have tried literally everything. She sleeps pretty well between but still wakes to nurse probably 3x a night. I just don’t know what to do anymore! How did y’all get your babes to sleep on their own? I’m hoping maybe after a year and whenever we quit bf she’ll start sleeping better but 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just hate the term spoiled. They’re children, not fruit. She’s not spoiled, she’s a baby. It’s completely normal for a baby to want to sleep near it’s parents.

We struggle to keep my daughter, who was until recently exclusively breast feed asleep all night also. My supply is drying up on its own, so we started trying to give formula bottles at night, which she hated and wouldn't drink. We realized she wasn't as hungry as we thought she was. We've been consistently going in and calming her down for a few minutes and then leaving her to try calming herself and go back to sleep. It's slowly working and she did sleep through the night once last week. Hopefully this helps, sorry for the long post!

I don’t BF but I’ve found two things to help. One, making sure my son is eating plenty during the day. He eats 3 main meals a day that consist of a purée and finger foods. This is of course in addition to all the bottles he drinks in between. We eat dinner at 6 & then start bedtime at 7, so he’s eating right before bed and then we also do a bottle right before putting him in his crib. 
Two, we stuck to a sleep training method. Within 5 nights he was sleeping through the night. He has his nights where he wakes up and needs something, but it’s rare. Usually only if he didn’t eat much during the day will he need a bottle in the early AM and then go back to sleep. But this is generally only when he’s not feeling well and therefore not super hungry.
Whatever you decide consistency is super important! So far your baby has dictated what sleep is like and now you’re changing things. Baby has to get used to the change and learn how to go back to sleep after waking, using a method other than eating. It’s hard at first but gets easier and is so worth it!

I sleep breastfeeding my baby. Only because we’re moving right now, but when I slept trained him it worked. Once we moved and I put him back in bed with me, his sleep patterns got worse. I used Dana obel sleep program.

Sleeping through the night is the exception not the rule.. even for older toddlers. It is normal for babies to wake up throughout the night. My son still wakes up 3 times per night to eat as well.

My baby girl is doing the same thing. She’s spoiled & loooves her breast milk. She has slept with me since she was born though. However, her waking up several time throughout the night has me so exhausted. I just discovered that she’s currently cutting 4 teeth! She’s had no teeth but now at 10 months they are all coming lol. So maybe you’re baby is teething?

Consistency is the key. It’s hard, I get it. I stopped cosleeping with daughter when she was 6 weeks old, but her crib is in our room. 
I only give her a pacifier when she goes to sleep, so she knows that it’s time for nap/bed. She sleeps through the night & if she wakes up I give her the pacifier, tell her “night night” and walk away. I worked on her teaching herself to put herself back to sleep. Basically I didn’t jump for her when she was talking or crying unless it was a really strong cry. And I only nurse her in the middle of the night when I know she’s off or has a cold. 
I wish I could give you some tips on how to break cosleeping, that’s one of the reasons I stopped doing it so early. My little sister coslept with my Dad and stepmom till she was 8 years old and I wasn’t down with that.

I sleep trained my baby. Consistency is key!! Research sleep training methods that suit you and your family then do t for a week at least.
