I’m 2 weeks post partum and had a small tear. how soon after birth can you have sex with a condom?
I’m not planning too soon I’m still kinda in pain but just curious for future reference

6 weeks. You're still healing and there's a dinner plate sized wound in your uterus from the placenta being ripped out. Condom or not, infection can still happen!

Well most doctors recommend at least 6 weeks, provided there are no complications with your healing. Usually your OB will clear you for sex at your 6 wk check up.

They recommend six weeks, I had sex before then with no issues, using condoms. I then got back on my Birth Control after my six weeks check up. 
I wouldn’t have any sex unprotected, unless you want another Baby you’re highly fertile.

My doctors at l&d said whenever I feel ready 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had sex a 2+6 weeks post partum, I’m now 5 weeks didn’t have any issues, I’m a little sore afterwards but nothing terrible. Had 6 stitches.
