Period Talk

Okay, ever since I started my period at age 11, sometimes I get my period twice a month. I always wondered if something was wrong with me. I told my mom about it and she said its due to me losing my v-card a couple of months ago. I told her that it wasn't because of that, I've always had them ever since I started my period. I hadn't had a double period since the month of may. What does that mean? Someone please help me? Thanks
