How soon is everyone announcing their pregnancy publicly?

I'm due April 4th and don't have my first OB appointment until September 1st. The day of the appointment I will be 9 weeks. My husband and I are wanting to announce our pregnancy then, but after reading some people's posts I'm nervous about doing that! Our close family/friends already know.

This is a hard one. My husband and I announced at 11 weeks. I miscarried at 13. At first I felt really stupid for celebrating something that was gone before I knew it myself. But now that I've healed a bit from that, I think it's important to celebrate the happy moments, even the short lived ones, with those you love and care about. They're the ones who will be there through the good and bad. Congrats to you! Do what feels right for you and your SO.

I already had my first appointment at just under six weeks. My fiancé, my best friend, his best friend, my mom, my grandparents, and my aunt know. We are moving our wedding to October (from April - which is now our due date!), so I think I'm going to start telling more people sooner rather than later. I might wait for our first ultrasound on August 27th to tell my fiance's kids.  If I miscarry, I'd like to have a support system among loved ones. I'm struggling to figure out when I should tell my job.

We will probably wait until after my first appointment, when I am 12 weeks.
