Anterior Placenta

Sarah

I was told I have an anterior placenta at my 20 week scan, my placenta is at the front of my womb instead of towards my spin. I'm so freaked about it lol. I'm a typical first time mum and get super anxious about every little thing.

I've felt what I think is baby. It feels like tiny bubbles popping. Is that normal. My husband still can't feel anything. It's super light pops.

The midwife just told us it's the equivalent of baby kicking through a pillow but didn't seem concerned at all about it and told me nothing else about kick counts ect. I don't want to ask "stupid" questions when I next see her when it sounds like such a non issue. I don't want to get kind of brushed aside because it's my first time being pregnant.

Does anyone have experience with it? Should my kick count be different when I reach 28 weeks? Im 20 now. When will babies kicks be felt on the outside? Will labour be any different? Like, will I bleed more? Do I have to take extra care of the front of my tummy? Will my bump be smaller? Any first hand info about it would be super appreciated :-) like I said, I'm a worrier and such a typical first time mum haha.

Thank you all so much for you're comments :-) you've all really put my mind at ease. It's just scary hearing you have something you've never even heard of before lol. I'm glad everything with L&D will be fine (I'm worried enough about that 😂) and that I'll still feel our precious baby grow and move about
