Breast milk for pinkeye??

Question

Ok ladies, I'm pretty sure my little man has pinkeye. He's got the goopy red eyes and the running nose. I breastfeed him and have heard to put some of my milk into his eyes for relief. I however am not sure how much or how often I should be doing so to help his poor little eyes heal. I Googled it but it didn't give instructions just said it is good to do so.  Can anyone offer me any advice?

I’d call the pediatrician. If he has pink eye he needs medication, not a shot of breast milk to the eye.

Conjunctivitis is pretty serious, it can cause irreversible eye damage. A simple google search states that breast milk is unlikely to be effective against the bacteria that causes pink eye ... I would suggest taking him to the pediatrician and getting antibiotics. If you find it completely necessary to use breast milk use it in conjunction with the medicine.

It works! So do regular milk! I have done it numerous times for my now 8 year old. Plus its natural

His eyes currently are not pink. He just has the goopy running eyes and runny nose. If it progresses I am calling his pediatrician but until that point I will try the milk for the full day and go from there. If his eyes aren't better in the morning I will be calling in for an appointment.

Just wanted to share this paragraph that I copied and pasted from a website about pinkeye. 
All types of conjunctivitis:
Many doctors recommend putting a few drops of expressed breast milk (if you're breastfeeding) in the affected eyes several times per day to help clear any discharge, treat an early infection, or even prevent an infection.
So far everytime I put the milk in his eyes they get relief for a short time. However with this being the weekend I will be calling his Dr in the morning if it's not cleared because I don't want him to go all weekend before being seen.
