Difference between headache and migraine?

I've been getting a lot of headaches lately and Idk if they are migraines. What's the difference? They hurt so bad.

I know different people experience them in different ways but here's what I feel. I start seeing twinkling lights, black spots, or start losing my vision to white or black spots. I cannot stand any light whatsoever, not even the faintest glow. I need to lay down, I can't speak or handle anyone speaking to me even in a whisper. I usually pant or have trouble catching my breath because of the pain. I need ice packs on my head or the pain is intolerable and I usually cry like a big blubbering baby.

It's definitely not to say that if you don't experience all of these at once you're not having a migraine though, I know plenty of people that have just one or two and they're having a migraine as well.

Headaches you can handle and can go about your daily lives but migraines feel like your head is been smashed in by a whale holding a thousand bricks. I suffer with severe migraines and can't handle light or any sounds when I have one, all I want to do is sleep but feel incredibly sick when I try like the room is spinning and I'm being shook. Believe me you'd know if you were having a migraine

Headaches are not usually accompanied by other symptoms associated with migraine. However, it is quite likely that if you have migraine you will also experience other headaches.

The headache is usually made worse by physical activity. Migraines usually last from 4 to 72 hours and in most cases there is complete freedom from symptoms between attacks.

I get horrible migraines where I can't tolerate any amount of light or I'm in utter agony. I get white spots in my eyes and get very nauseous and vomit. I experience my migraines right behind my eyes. Even the act of moving even a centimeter absolutely hurts. I can get them lasting anywhere from a few hours upto a week. It's horrible....

Migraines are usually painful in one side of the head and can last 2-72 hours. They are are typically  accompanied by nausea, sensitivity to light, sound and smell. When I use to get them I would see an aura like a halo around objects. Only sleep would make them go away.

I have not had them since I found out I was allergic to msg.

I've been diagnosed with chronic migraines and they are nothing like a headache.. First, the pain is severe and it sneaks up on you and bangs you in the side of the head. Typically focused on one side at a time where a headache is all over. Migraines cause dizziness and sometimes nausea, also sensitivity to light and sounds.
