I can’t believe it!!

My baby will be 6 weeks tomorrow and we have had the hardest time breastfeeding. My nipples are inverted and he has a high palate so using a latch assist wasn’t enough for him to realize the nipple was there. I have been using a nipple shield since day one but he still didn’t latch deeply. So after weeks of blisters and bleeding and tears he has recently started latching deeper and it’s been a couple days since I have had to supplement or had horrible blisters! Then today I decided to try to latch without the shield. I didn’t use the shield first or the latch assist, I just tried right away and he latched!! There was no pain and he stayed latched until he fell asleep! I can’t put into words how excited I am! It took six weeks for us to figure this out but we did it! You never know when everything will turn around for you, try to stay positive ladies! I’m so glad I didn’t give up 🥰
