Will there always be doubt when planning for a baby?

My husband and I just had our first "baby talk" and had a lot of good reasons why we are ready but in the back of our mind we have doubts. Will we ever feel confident in this decision?

If everyone waited until the "perfect time" to have babies, no one would have babies! There's no way to be 100% prepared, and I think everyone probably has doubts at some point. It's good to talk and plan as best you can, though.

Eek, sorry, there are two different questions posed here and I responded "yes" to the topic question. I've heard it said "if you wait until you are 100% ready to have a baby, you'll never have a baby." I think there are some serious considerations to make before having one, but I don't know if anyone ever feels totally ready- at least I hope! I'm nearing my third trimester and I still worry about being ready..

I am TTC #3 and I always have doubts! I think "what if this isn't what is best for my family" but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and if it's meant to be then it will be. I don't think God would allow me to have a child unless he wanted me to.

With that being said, I wondered if I even WANTED to be a mom. I had a horrible upbringing and wasn't sure if having children of my own was a wise choice because I didn't have a good example of what a mom was supposed to look like. Now that I have a 5 and 2 year old, I believe I was made to be a mom! It the title I best fulfill! And I couldn't be happier with the life I have!

We are TTC #3 and again, I'm faced with worry and concern that it will upset our family dynamic and it's not what is supposed to happen. But I'm sure that's just my anxiety and I would love that baby more than anything in this world when here she finally decides to come.

I'm 27 weeks and we're still like "are we ready for this?" 😂 but truely we are, it's just a scary step to take but we decided to take it and couldn't be happier with the decision 😊

There will always be some doubt. The good thing is once you get pregnant you get nine months to prepare. 
I'd say the most important criteria for if you're ready for a baby: stable relationship, stable home, stable income, desire to be parents

And this is why I'm not allowed to answer polls before I've had my coffee! LOL I agree with the other posters that there's never a perfect time to have a baby. Your life can change in the blink of an eye. I was a surprise pregnancy and my parents couldn't afford me. I mean, c'mon, they could've put my sis up for adoption! We're only 15 months and one day apart. Also, I was born with Strabismus in both eyes so I had to have 3 eye surgeries. If you spend your life waiting for the perfect moment, it usually passes you by. I'm with you on the doubting. My SO and I are not trying, but not preventing. I think doubts and fears are normal and a good sign that you are ready. You're thinking about all the major changes that come with having a child. That is of the good! Baby dust and blessed be!

There will always be doubt and you will always wonder "what if we didn't have kids" but on the flip side you'll always wonder "what if we did have kids" I think children really enhance your life and make it worth living, my husband isn't so sure but he wants me to be happy... But he's terrified we can't afford it (we make too much for government help but it's not enough to have a babysitter not enough for one of us to stay home at the moment) so we are waiting until we both get raises, hopefully by the end of this year or beginning of next... Then we will start trying.

My SO & I spent months discussing when we wanted to start TTC. I don't think there is ever really a perfect time but it felt like the right time for us. I have still had my little freakouts throughout this pregnancy of course but I know it's the right decision for us.

I feel like there's always going to be doubts and fears. My boyfriend is already a father so he's a little more comfortable with the idea of a baby on the way. I, however, have never been a mother before. I don't know how to balance finances with another person. The idea of being 100% responsible for someone else's life is scary. I don't know how to breastfeed, or pump, or schedule a baby. Lol. I've never not been able to sleep through the night. However, I'm so excited and ready! But I don't think my fears and doubts are going to go away.

Everyone is different, as long as the good outweighs the bad, go for it.
