Of course this isn’t always the case, but do you believe the guilt can or is often used a way to manipulate people.
I’ve often seen this with people trying to achieve a goal or even just to throw a pity part, use guilt as a way to manipulate people into doing something or to receive attention.
Like I said NOT always, but I personally have seen a correlation with the two
