Birth story!!
Well I had my baby boy 10/19/18 and man was it an experience! So during my pregnancy my little man had a two vessel cord, a spot on his heart and toward the end he had dilated kidneys, and the cherry on top was he went ahead and wrapped the cord around his neck twice. So I went in at 8am on the 19th for my induction, leaving my one year old daughter at home with the in-laws. Labour started around 1ish and was very intense, we were seeing decels in his heart beat but nothing to worry about as it was still strong, once I was 8cm his heart rate really started to drop, so my OB called down to the OR and told them “prep for a csection” then informed me that she was going to break my water and I had minutes to go from 8cm to 10 and get him out, and if his heart rate dropped below 80 I was going for a csection. They broke my water and bam his heart rate dropped to 62.. I was 9cm with a sunny side up baby, my OB reached down, turned my baby, told my husband and my mom to grab my legs and told me to start pushing. As I’m pushing they’re breaking the bed, and the OR team is rushing in to take me away if I didn’t get him out. Three minutes of pushing and he was out with the cord wrapped around his neck 4 times, they unwrapped him and he was perfect and healthy! I enjoyed a few minutes of peace before everyone started to stress again as I was hemorrhaging and losing blood fast, as my uterus began throwing clots the size of apricots, I was again informed that if it didn’t stop, I’d be taken down to the OR. After losing 744ml of blood, and having a nurse use her hands to scoop out the clots I was fine and sent off to my room to enjoy my son!! It was eventful but so worth it 💙 Everett Jarrod Michael was brought into the world weighing 7lbs 1oz and healthy as a horse aside from his tongue tie, which is such an easy fix!
